ahigh white cell count indicates other medical issues you need to consult your doctor
An increased white blood cell count means you have an infection. WBCs are what the body uses to fight off an infection. When your body is invaded by an outside organism, a bacterium for example, it produces more WBCs to better defend itself. The treatment for this is totally dependant on the source and type of the infection, but may include antibiotics. Perhaps saying you had an "increased WBC count" was just a confusing way for your doctor to tell you you had an infection. The idea is to treat the infection causing the high WBC count, not the high WBC count itself.
There is an underlying problem somewhere. White blood cells increase when there is a virus or infection. Could you possible elaberate on this subject..
There are all kinds of white cells.each has a different function and a different reason to be higher. When the lab runs a CBC (complete blood count), it will (if the physician orders it) do a 'differential'.that's a drop of blood on a slide that's dried, stained and examined under the microscope. This tells the physician what 'kind' of white cell (the infection kind, the virus kind, the allergy kind, etc) is the one(s) that is 'up'. It also depends on how 'up' the count really is. Did he say 'up a little', 'way up' or 'hold on to your socks' up? Whichever it is be sure to have this 'up' checked out.
High white cell count means how much high?Without knowing, it is difficult to say anything. There is no food to eat or to avoid which could help. Were you having any symptoms?

The white cells are increases as a response to an infection, and they return to normal when the thing they are attacking leaves the body. Of course, conditions such a leukemia cause elevation, but I hope this is not your case. No treatment is necessary for a reactive leukocytosis. The body needs it.
