When reading a blood pressure test, what are considered the "danger zones"?.Why?

Question:
I'd just like to understand in simple terms what the numbers are rating and what they mean.i

Answers:
The first number, systolic blood pressure, measures the maximum pressure exerted as the heart contracts. This means that when the heart squeezes blood into your arteries, how much pressure gets pushed against the walls of the arteries.

The lower number indicates diastolic pressure, a measurement taken between beats, when the heart is at rest. This means that while there is no blood being forced into the artery, the amount of the pressure against the artery walls is measured.

High blood pressure means that the force exerted on the walls of your arteries is too great. Your heart is working harder, and your arteries are stressed too much.

According to high blood pressure guidelines from the American Heart Association (AHA), numbers under 140/90 and over 90/60 are generally considered normal in adults.

Other Answers:
120 -80 is suppose to be normal>>>they worry about the last number more than anything. When it gets close to 100 , you need to worry.
