Anything To Stop The Itch?

Question:
After a lovely night outdoors (au natural in a pond) with my bf on Sunday, we both contracted scabies.

The dr. prescribed an antihistamine, but that nor benedryl, nor hydrocortizone is helping the latent itching which can last 2-3 weeks after curative tratment..

Any ideas?

Answers:
The itch may fade faster if one soaks in a warm tub of water until the fingertips turn into "raisins," then scrub the areas that tend to itch. This will eliminate the dead mites and their debris much faster than allowing them to be shed normally. Occasional patients will have to repeat this once or twice to stop the itch.

Other Answers:
Kwell lotion works for that. It will kill the mite causing the scabies. Both of you should use it before bed time then also if you are in close contact with people in your household, you should also advice them to use. You might have infected them too.
try the following, one doesn't work, try the other:

bathing with warm water and oatmeal.
cool soaks on the affected area and use calamine lotion after
Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive heat and humidity.
Engage in activities that distract from the itching during the day.

if your on medication already, all you have to do is wait untill you're cleared, though it will take several weeks, dont focus on the itching, it will only execerbate the problem. doo the things that will give you comfort, long baths, eating marshmallows or hot chocolates. things like that

just next time be extra cautious.
godluck
are you sure it wasn't poison oak or poison ivy
