Preventing scars?

I had surgery on my lower ribs 6.5 weeks ago, so now I have a 3.5 inch cut on both sides of my upper abdomen. I have read that Vitamin E will really heap to prevent scaring. So, I've been putting that on at night. During the day, I've been wearing Neosporin Scar Solution silicone strips. Some people have told me that the Curad Scar therapy works better though. And then of course there is Mederma, and Scar Fade solution. I feel confused as to what to do. Everybody is telling me different things, and I just want the best product for these cuts, and am trying to get as little scaring as possible. Does anybody have any experiences with any of these products, or suggestions for me? THANK YOU!

Does anyone have Beech Street Health Insurance?

Answers:
preventing scars vs. removing or reducing scars
preventing scars - do the things to not get scratched; no roughhousing or falling.

removing or reducing the effects of scars: aloe vera gelly, vitamin E oil, silicia gel, cocoa butter.

Has anyone got any tips on how to stop chaffing?

Mederma works very well.
