have u tried a long hot shower or bath right before u go to bed this relaxes the body it helps me because i have that problem sometimes soke in aveeno it might help also or u can try a sleeping aid that would help to I used to have this problem. Try cammomile tea first of all, but not too much or you'll wake up and need the bathroom. About an hour before you want to go to bed make it a 'relaxing time'. So, listen to some really chilled out music, sit in a chair and think how sleepy you are - just let yourself feel so sleepy. Maybe brush your teeth before this time so it doesn't wake you up.
But - these only help with the symptoms. My insomnia had an underlying cause so it may be good to go to a doctor or counsellor.

I too suffered from stress induced insomnia for 2 years. I do not believe in sleeping pills as I have seen too many people who are addicted to them. I was frustrated and miserable.even a bit panicky. A friend introduced me to Himilayan Goji Juice, the only functional juice on the market with medical validation. I started taking the juice and within 2 days started sleeping through the night. Goji, Lycium Barbarum has over 72 clinical studies published on pubmed.org. It is an adaptogen which goes to work on auto-immune deficiencies, including sleep disorders.
Incidently, it also ended my hot flashes, night sweats and headaches! Look it up and see if it might be for you.
Best of luck to you.I can really relate!
