my friend has a health problem with his kidneys is anyone here an expert?

Question:

both his kidneys hurt every morning really bad at about 3 and 4 in the morning. It only relieves when he passes stool or urine...lately it's been hurting him all day. Hes does a lot of work, and he works hard, but he's a little high strung. Can anyone give any synopss by these symptoms alone. He also has a bad back after a snowboarding accident, and his digestion is not the best. thank you if you can answer.

There could be many things causing these symptoms. He may have injured one or both kidneys along with part of his intestine or colon during the accident.
