Can you move it around without it hurting a lot? Try turning your ankle in circles, you use the muscles around those bones to do that, which would make them press against the bones. If it hurts a lot or you see the bones moving, it's probably broken and you should see a doctor as soon as you can. If left broken or chipped for too long, it can scrape against the muscles near it and make it worse.
If on the other hand it just is a little sore and you don't see the bones moving at all, just pack it in some ice for an hour or two and then try moving it around again.
The only way to know for sure is an X-Ray, but they can be pretty expensive, so test it out on your own first. It could just be sprained. You could always call your doctor in the morning and ask over the phone what it would look like if it were broken. It usually swells up and the skin gets a blue-ish tint. Sometimes it doesn't hurt at all because the nerves get damaged, so if there's no pain, it's not always a perfect indication of anything.
Good luck though! Even if it is broken, you'll be fine, might need an air-cast or something for a couple weeks, but it's not so bad. My friend just broke the top of her foot when she jumped off the last couple steps in the stairwell and fell.
