Question:
I really hate sleep! I hate the fact that I have to wast 8 hours of my day unconscious.anyone know anyway I can cut down on my sleep without adverse side effects? Can you train yourself to live on less sleep? I used to get by on less when I was on call at nights, but now I'm on shift I'm knackered again!!

Answers:
Without sleep we hallucinate, we suffer serious health risks. We die.

You need to charge your mobile every so many hours, well sleep is our recharger.

Sleep repairs braincells, restores balance, and informs us, it keeps our body healthy, since our brain's chemicals release signals to every part of our body in conjunction with other organs to relay instructions that are necessary for healthy survival.

It's also where the psyche works, keeping us informed of things we need to understand and keeping us in tune with our creator. To keep us safe.

Other Answers:
You just need to learn to be grateful to the Almighty that He makes you sleep.

I dislike the fact it takes time out of your life, but you need it to rest and function normally. Why would you hate sleep? OK, you gave your reasons but don't you feel better when you are well rested? Each person needs different amounts of sleep, maybe your just not an 8 hour kinda guy.

You know, all of us, we all need to sleep. Your body will suffer if you do not let it rest. You will not be able to function well. All the things you do now? You will not enjoy if you do not rest at all. :)

i love sleep, hating sleep is really abnormal. You could try an afternoon siesta like the spanish and see if that means u need less at night.

Sleep is essential for your well being. Not only does your body heal itself better when you are asleep, but your brain sorts out all its issues via dreaming.

From general experience, you can get by on less sleep the older you get. Margaret Thatcher was reported to sleep only 3 - 4 hours a night but I believe she just needed less.

Look on it as a restorative exercise for your body and not a waste of time!

I really despise sleeping, for the same reasons.
I started staying up all night when I was 12, then I'd sleep at about 5 A.M. and wake up at 10 A.M.
However, I got lucky.
I did not stunt my growth.

I only need 4-5 hours of sleep per day to function normally.
I just started only sleeping 4-5 hours per day, and my body adjusted.
The consequence I pay for it though, is that I don't really have a sense of time.
If I fall asleep during a random time, I'll have no idea what time it is when I wake up.
My internal clock is 'broken'.
I can live with that though, I don't much like sleeping too many hours.

dont do it then! well you should be gracefull that you can sleep , i wish i can sleep well but i have a baby to take cae of and i dont get anought sleep , if you are still single enjoy it !
