What effect does excessive (more then 6 cups per day). coffee drinking have on the human kidney.?

Question:

I used to drink alot of booze, like 10 to 15 drinks a night. I gave ti up about 6 weeks ago. A few days ago my kidneys started to ache, not really bad, but they are a bit sore. Sine ce I quit boozing I started drinking loads of coffee. Now I dont know if I developed something from the booze and it only surfaced later, or it is the coffee that I am drinking now that is having an effect.

I would guess it's some sort of withdrawal symptom but you need to go to a doctor, man, not ask questions here.

And coffee is absolutely NOT bad for your heart.
