I suffer from constipation ..?
Question:
Answers:
There are various medicines/tablets to help constipation (laxatives):
Fibre supplements, which come as powder, which makes up a small drink, granules, tablets containing bran or indeed raw bran.
Osmotic laxatives, which act by drawing more fluid into the bowel.
Irritative preparations which tend to introduce contractions of the bowel eg Senna.
You may need to use one or more of these together.

Treatment
A well-balanced diet that includes fiber-rich foods, such as unprocessed bran, whole-grain bread, and fresh fruits and vegetables, is recommended. Drinking plenty of fluids and exercising regularly will help to stimulate intestinal activity. Special exercises may be necessary to tone up abdominal muscles after pregnancy or whenever abdominal muscles are lax.
Bowel habits are also important. Sufficient time should be set aside to allow for undisturbed visits to the bathroom. In addition, the urge to have a bowel movement should not be ignored.
If an underlying disorder is causing constipation, treatment will be directed toward the specific cause. For example, if an underactive thyroid is causing constipation, the doctor may prescribe thyroid hormone replacement therapy.
In most cases, laxatives should be the last resort and taken only under a doctor’s supervision. A doctor is best qualified to determine when a laxative is needed and which type is best. There are various types of oral laxatives, and they work in different ways.
Above all, it is necessary to recognize that a successful treatment program requires persistent effort and time. Constipation does not occur overnight, and it is not reasonable to expect that constipation can be relieved overnight.
Prevention
Doctors agree that prevention is the best approach to constipation. While there is no way to ensure never experiencing constipation, the following guidelines should help:
*Know what is normal and do not rely unnecessarily on laxatives.
*Eat a well-balanced diet that includes unprocessed bran, whole-wheat grains, fresh fruits and vegetables.
*Drink plenty of fluids.
*Exercise regularly.
*Set aside time after breakfast or dinner for undisturbed visits to the toilet.
*Don’t ignore the urge to defecate.
*Whenever there is a significant or prolonged change in bowel habits, check with a doctor.

STOP MEASURING IT AND EAT MORE FIBER lmmfao.that really caught me off guard.
maybe you should just accept it.
drink more water, add fiber to your diet. try eating more vegetables like..salads. You are funny! Try eating more fresh fruit and vegetables and see what happens then
well if it's always been that way, it's prob normal for you. Hopefully you go every day because that much backing up..well not good. Try drinking lots more water and fruit juices, especially cranberry juice and prune juice flush the bowels out more than other juices, and eat fruits and veggies, and don't forget fibre.
lol you measure it ?you should regard it as the ruler of all rulers what u need is a large tub of cream to soothe the ache you must have afterwards
You need lots of water. Your body is constantly reabsorbing water from the intestines. If you don't drink enough, it will still reabsorb whats there and the more it reabsorbs, the dryer it gets. If you eat food that takes a while to digest, like steak, meat, etc.you will have that problem because the transit through the intestines is slower. If you eat salty things like bacon, ham, sausage, pizza, butter, etc.it will dry you up as well. Why don' t you try eating some watermellon, assuming you don't have high blood pressure or blood sugar problems that is. Water mellon has lots of water in it and its healthier. If you still have that problem, you can try a stool softener to ease the strain, or eat oatmeal, raisins, prunes (warm) to increase the transit. Pain medications, and antiulcer medications or meds that change the ph of your stomach might slow the transit too. I feel sorry for you plumber:(
talk to ur doctor.he can give u something that would help.trust me.
i'm sorry to hear that. i am completely suprized that no one has told you to go see a doctor yet. please do.
Eat that cereal called "Life". It will keep you from getting constipated. You should also be eating a combination of at least 5 fruits and vegetables a day. There is nothing wrong with a man having 12 inch bowel movements. i'm still laughing, can't believe u measured it.
Anyway take some prune juice, lots of fibre e.g oranges, apples and other fruit and veg good in fibres and weetabix (its so good for constipation, i mean for fibre) and drink lots of water
DRINK LOTS OF HEALTHY LIQUIDS LIKE.water..juice. That is so wierd, someone said that joke to me today! Didn't get it though.
Yes, if it is 12 inches long it will be your ruler.
