How can I stretch my shin area?

Question:
I went running and my legs started to hurt. I was able to stretch my calves and rotate my ankles, but somehow the shins are unreachable. I want to make sure I'm using the term shin correctly, I mean the area in front of my legs below the knee. Please help!

Answers:
If you mean on the outer part of your shin below your knee: point your foot down and inwards. Hold the stretch for a good 20-30 seconds. If you mean directly below the knee itself on the bone: you may mean where the thigh muscle attaches onto the shin bone. Try either lying on your belly and pulling your heel towards your butt or standing and pulling your foot backwards towards your butt.

If it is the bone itself that is aching, you should ice the area for about 10 minutes. You could perform an ice massage: hold an ice cube with paper towel and rub around the affected area until the ice cube melts.

If the pain is directly below the bottom part of your knee cap - this is not a muscle. Could be an irritated fat pad - best to consult with a doctor for a proper evaluation.

ya hurt yur what?

when you run you make an acid, abd you need to walk for 10 minutes after running to get rid of the pain in the shin area, that is what he told us, and I had that same problem and it went away after doing it, try it, thats all he told us.
