I overheard our safety guy said one of our employees had CVS, what is it and is it contagious?

Question:

Answers:
Don't worry, it's not contagious. It's undoubtedly Computer Virus Syndrome, you can experience this in as little as two hours.

CVS is a condition marked by symptoms such as:

* Sore eyes
* Blurred vision
* Neck pain, and
* Muscle spasms
* Headaches

It affects workers from all walks of life: computer programmers, graphic artists, writers, insurance adjusters, flight controllers, secretaries, business executives.

I can't blame you for worrying - as long as it's not trying to get into someone's buisness. I do know that the safety person is in violation for relaying this information outside of the employee's consent.

Other Answers:
I am sure it is NONE of your business, moron!
CVS here is a retail drug store
cyclic vomiting syndrome
CVS is very contagious. You should buy a bubble and work in it .
One of the most standard expansions for the abbreviation CVS is "cardiovascular surgery". However, it really isn't any of your business. If there was a health risk for anyone in the company, you would have been informed.
well CVS in medical terms can be a few different things...

CVS: 1. Chorionic villus sampling, a procedure for first-trimester prenatal diagnosis. 2. Cyclic vomiting syndrome, also known as abdominal migraine.

you sure you heard it right? And your safety guy shouldnt have been talking to others that have nothing to do with this employee(bosses etc) because he possibly violated HIPPA law....especially if this empoloyees problem was work related....
2 possibilities: either Computer Vision Syndrome, or Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. In a workplace situation, the computer one is more likely correct.

Either way, it's not contagious. But the other answerer is right--it's not any of your business.
