You really need to call the facility where you will be having your scan. There are many different manufacturers of MRI scanners, and all scan times will vary from machine to machine. It also depends if you are doing a non contrast study (at my facility about 35 minutes), and non contrast followed by contrast scan (45-50 minutes), or a scan with thin slices through the pituitary or internal auditory canals (about 75 minutes). At my facility, a cervical spine MRI takes about 45 minutes, but if the patient has had surgery on that area of the spine, it will take about 75 minutes. The coils (kind of like a camera) used for a brain MRI is different than the coil needed for a C-spine, so they cannot be done at the same time.

My husband had an MRI done on his head. It took an hour and 15 minutes because they messed up and had to do it over again. So cut that in half about 40 minutes for this area.

With both the head and neck, i'd estimate around an hour since it's likely they'll need to at least one coil change.

but to answer yet anothe question....I am a very confident person. (and i like to think I am good looking) but i have found that I have to be very careful of whom I complement. The thing is...if I say something nice about someone, I sometimes piss them off, or they think I am trying to hit on them. (which is rarely the case). People actually get offended when they get a compliment from someone who they think normally wouldn't care. they treat it as if I am picking on them or something (also something i would never do) Girls are the worst. I can't tell a girl she looks great unless she already knows it. otherwise, i am just being an @sshole. And if I tell a hot chick she looks great...I am just feeding the machine.
