Are you dead? That's a symptom.
Flu-like.
They sell carbon monoxide detectors (they look like smoke detectors), so even if you find out you're fine - go get one!!
Carbon monoxide poisoning is very serious - more often than not you'll end up dead. In low levels you lose concentration, your vision becomes blurry, and you can't co-ordinate yourself very well. At moderate levels you get headaches and nausea, and feel very very tired. The longer you stay in the area the worse it gets, because carbon monoxide bonds with haemoglobin better than oxygen does, so your body slowly suffers from a lack of oxygen.
I'm gonna keep this brief:
Carbon monoxide attachs itself to hemoglobine, red blood cells, and stops them from carrying oxygene, so basically less oxygen to the muscles, you feel weak. That's it, no more warning than that. You cant see it, you can't smell it, and if you're in an environment with too much of it, chances are you'll be drowsy, if you fall asleep then you're in trouble.
If they'res a risk, get a detector.
I'm pretty sure it's not flu-like. Because carbon monoxide is absorbed easier than oxygen by the lungs, you start to feel very tired and light-headed from the lack of oxygen. If you fall asleep, you WILL die.
If you start feeling these symptoms immediately turn the device off and get rid of it.
If you have any concerns, I suggest buying a carbon monoxide detector. It's recommended that all homes have one.
First comes a headache... followed by dizziness, nausea and eventually death. Get a detector... they're cheap and it will save your life!
