Every time I try to donate blood to the Red Cross,I am rejected for low iron.?

Question:
It is frustrating. My reading is always 37%--borderline low.

Answers:
I suggest that you take Iron Plus C Complex. This is a natural product. Just recently a friend of mine who was pregnant was told her iron was low. She started taking Iron Plus C Complex and noticed the difference right away by having more energy and when she had her next checkup her level had increased.

The vitamin C is added for better iron absorption.

Over 90% of females ages 12 to 50 don't get the recommended daily amount.

Yes, it happens to me regularly. Iron is low in menstruating women, some vegans, etc. You might need an iron supplement, but that could cause some constipation- so follow it up with lots of water.
young female right? eat more foods with iron in them take a vitamine with iron your periods cause you to loose iron and you arn't replacing it in your diet. Its a common problem with young females.
Try spinach salads. I'm not much into greens but raw spinach is not bad. If you are adventurous, try dandelions, not the flower, on ly the green. You can cook it same as spinach, and has lots of iron. Or, get iron vitamin supplement. You don't want to become too anemic.
It used to happen to me all the time when I was younger. To be able to donate, I started taking Geritol, and right before donating, I'd eat a lot of dark green vegetables and potatoes. Then my iron would be high enough. After I had a hysterectomy I didn't have a problem donating.
