Anything I can do to wake myself up after taking an antihistamine?

Question:
I took a antihistamine after dinner today, now I'm sooo tired, forgot to take non-drowsey, I can barely keep my eyes open, anything I can do/take to make myself awake, I still need to do a few things before I go to bed?

Answers:
i guess its too late now but for future reference take allegra instead. its now over the counter. it works better as an allergy medicine and its none drowsy.
allegra is much better than claritin, since claritin still makes you drowsy. thats why my doctor prescribes allegra in AM and zyrtec at night. and both drugs are better than claritin.
i hope this helps.
I have the same reaction!! Drowsy almost made me less drowsy than non-drowsy! I had to go off of everything but Claritin (I use generic Loratadine 10mg once a day) for a little over 2 years. I just a couple weeks ago tried out some antihistimine, cold and sinus pills etc, for a headache that wouldn't go away. I got drowsy a little (although I only used a half dose unless it was right before bed), but not nearly as much as before, and I could actually function. If you take a Claratin every day after a little while it should kick in and make you feel better. At first I only took it at night, when I knew I was home for the night. Now I can take it any time of day, but at first I couldn't. Whatever you do don't mix the antihistimines with any type of caffiene pill or other "upper", you can risk getting a heart attack or something. (Tea, or a coke is fine.) Only take the antihistimines when you absolutly need them, and until then, take a Claratin (Loratadine) every day from here on out. If you only have seasonal allergies, then you only need to take the Claratin during that season, but for me it's year round, so I've been on it for over 2 years, and if I miss too many in a row, I get a sinus infection (the reason I had to start taking it in the first place). Sorry I can't offer better news.
