you may have a inner ear infection, been swimming lately?
you need to see a physician, esp. if you start running a fever.
cause you need to see a doctor! sounds like you have some kind of infection that's S-P-R-E-A-D from your throat to your ear.. and since that 's in your head... you willing to take a chance it will break the blood barrier to your brain?!
ear infection
The inner ear drains into the back of the throat. If pressure is applied to that point. the pain is felt in the ear. That is also why when you are in an airplane swallowing takes the change in pressure pain away from your ears.
If this pain is a recent occurance, do have yourself checked for an ear infection.
That happens to me sometimes wen i get colds, since your throat, nose and ear sinuses are connected, they can all effect each other. It may be nothing to worry about, but its best to chek with the doctor if the pain continues.
The Eustachian tube connects the ear to the mouth/throat. When you get an infection in either your throat or your ear it can cause pain when swallowing. If you feel the underside of your jaw in the soft part and it is tender and a little swollen that means that your body is fighting off an infection and if it persists for more than 3 or 4 days or gets worse instead of better you should see a doctor. Sometimes, especially in areas with poor air quality, this is just a result of some kind of air born agent that has irritated the lining of the throat and Eustachian tube. Also have you had your tonsils removed, if not they may be irritated and causing general pain in the area.
