this is usualy used in the short term
is often pulled out accidentaly , can cause infection , is most uncomfortable, gets kinked and often leaks , and can lead to incontinence of urine .

All this should be explained to the patient directly from the medical team involved.

As with any urine cath, there is always a risk for infection, leakage & migration and they can be inadvertently pulled out. But this goes for all urine caths, not just suprapubics.
