Kidney pains??

Question:

My mom started having these pains today in her left side, under the ribcage, where her kidney is. They are dull and slowly throbbing, not always consistent. She also had indigestion earlier but took baking soda and water for it and that went away. She is fifty years old and in very good health. Any ideas what this is?

If they don't ease, no matter what you do, they could be kidney stones ( I have had them,,,NOT fun.)

Have her soak in as hot a tub as she can stand...it may relax the muscles and ease the pain.

Best of all...get her to a hospital.

Actually the kidneys are located toward the back, near the waist. Sounds more like a gallbladder attack, but it's probably just indigestion.
