I work with children who have autism (and many other ASD's and PDD's) and I have had a lot of parents believe that it was from the MMR jab. Recently though, another client thought that it was a different shot who caused her daughter to have autism. I think she felt it was the Hepatitis shot. However I don't believe that there is any scientific proof that either of these immunizations cause autism. I know I am not really answering your question, but I do want you to know that there are many other people who feel it was the MMR, but nothing has been proven. Best of luck. There are plenty of services out there and I hope that you are hooked up with plenty of them. Depending on what state you live in, your child can have free medical care, access to camps and recreational activities. Good luck.

Well he is very silly, there is no proven link between the two. He should be informed about the risks and skill up on what will happen if the worst happens..
He's just scared about it because of all the hype it caused. I had both my children vaccinated moreso out of peace of mind so tell him not to worry
Well, my two both had it, and were OK. My friend paid about £200 to have her diabetic toddler injected with separate injections at a private clinic. That might be worth a try, because there will definitely be repurcussions in the next few years from parents refusing to have their kids innoculated. It's a hard choice isn't it.
Measles isn't a joke and neither is autism.
I took the view that the MMR jab was 'safe' compared with just crossing the road, and my kids all got it.
This jab has been used for years in hundreds of millions people.
Opinion seems to be that the autism link has been discredited.
I really don't know, hon. My girls had just one jab because I was worried about side effects. I don't suppose we'll ever know for sure.
Look at the latest news about whooping cough coming around again - even though 85% of children had the jab.

The report that came out re: the links between mmr and autism was written without most of the facts. It wasn't researched very well and is based more on opinion than anything else. Officials are now calling for it's withdrawal. And also, if the jab DID cause autism, then surely not having it is going to be sooo much worse as any inoculation doses you up with a small amount of the virus so you build the antibodies to fight it. Imagine would could happen if the child caught one of the diseases! Are you familiar with the "Autism speaks" website? I was lucky! Yes, my autistic son got the MMR also. By lucky, I mean he has "broke through" . I credit the teachers, and the program they set up for him.I remember when all this was going on. I asked the nurse would she give her child the shot, and she said yes. It is also believed that it is hereditary. That BOTH parents carry the gene. If you look up symptoms and signs, you may recognize those behaviors in yourself, and as you probably know, autism has different degrees. I've heard that they don't want to completely "breed out" the autism gene because that's where a lot of genius's come from. (Einstein was autistic). Good Luck. They say to catch it by 3 yrs. old. to have a better chance at getting through.I just wonder, have they stopped the shots? or has the "formula" been changed?
It is a very real concern. As many a one in 150 children are autistic. My grandson is among the statistics. It is a real conundrum, but I think we have no choice in whether our children are inoculated or not because they must have these immunizations to enter public school, don't they?
Autism started to sharply increase after MMR was mandated and the CDC don't know have clue?. Approx. 50% of children are on ADD drugs ect..and for other behavioral issues,
the same drugs used to address the symptoms of the most Autistic.
The Drug companies only care about $$ and how to increase sales. Measles used to be a right of passage while building a natural permanent immunity.
And BTW If most everyone else is immunized why would you want to take the risk of a life long learning disability and other side effects for your children? It's up to you to roll the dice by believing what the Gov tells you, controlled by the big $$ of the drug company's?
