How do you stop itching?

Question:
I am allergic to something and itch everywhere, especially legs and back, but also eyes. It's expensive to cover my whole body with cortisone and I'm not sure if benedryl works. Is there something I can bathe in or a better antihistamine that will work ? Does someone know?

Answers:
well to releave itching, first stop itching it. second u can take a luke warm Oatmeal bath to help releave itching if it is all over the body.(OTC local drugstore.) but to stop it and prevent it is to call ur doc and get an allergy test. otc benadryll works too creams and pills but the bath is soothing and good for ur skin too

Other Answers:
you probably should check with a dematologist just to make sure you dont have a skin condition....otherwise a doc can prescribed something for you to help with the discomfort
If you haven't tried benedryl you should definitely try it. If it doesn't help within a few days consult a doctor. Or the other way around.
You have to find out what you are allergic to and avoid that. See your doctor and they can test you. You can also try bathing in Aveeno with oatmeal, it's supposed to be soothing but it won't really solve the allergy problem.
