Herbicides, pesticides, growth hormones, pollution.
I have read that if you eat a lot of junk food, that increases your chances of getting cancer.
Food itself does not cause cancer. The chemicals we use today in growing the foods (fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides) cause various forms of cancer. Also, all the additives we use in processed foods are very unhealthy, not just for cancer but for other conditions as well. Some foods like green tea and blueberries are full of anti oxidants which are supposed to help prevent cancer.
The relationship is as direct as cause and effect, or disease and antidote, in most cases. This relationship is the most heavily guarded secret in modern medicine today, for to expose this truth would be to destroy what is the most significant part of our economy. If cancer went away, our economy would collapse overnight.
