My whole upper eyelid has been swollen?

Question:
for three days now. The doctor at the after hours office said I had a stye and prescribed ointment and an oral antibiotic. There has been no improvement. Is it normal for a stye to do this? All of the research I have done indicate a stye is a small bump near your lashline,

Answers:
hi,
I have had the same thing. if the sty develops under your eyelid instead of along the lash line, this is what happens. mine lasted almost a week before going away. that was several months ago, it has not come back.

Other Answers:
I could also be allergies.try benadryl.usually if it IS a stye after a few days of the ointment the swelling goes down.

did you try to put something warm or hot towel or pad over your eye? Call the doctor back or go see another doctor if there has been no improvement at all.

Has there even been the slightest bit of reduction?

allergic to something if not still take zyetrec or cinglar that hleps me alot be patient The doctor knows the better.

Yes it is normal. It will take awhile for it to go away completely. It's like a big, very sore zit. One way to prevent them is to keep your eyes clean. Don't go to bed with makeup on.always wash your face. Good luck and be patient. ;)

maybe the reason it hasn't gone down is because of infection and you haven't been on the antibiotic long enough to get rid of it. don't worry it will go down sweetie be patient.

did you get stung by a bee a full blown stye can involve a whole eye lid ,that shows degree of inflammation
