what happens now that i got an ingrown toenail removed, but the part that gre back is ingrown again?

Question:
i got the sides of my tonail removed becuase they were ingrown. each side is growing back but one is ingrown again. i had it done before and nothing was wrong with it, but this time it went right back to being ingrown. does anyone know what they will do now that it grew back to being ingrown? will they remove the whole nail this time?

Answers:
You might have to have the whole toenail removed. I've had to have that done with both of my 'big' toenails. It's not too bad.I can still paint it with fingernail polish and nobody even notices I don't have one! (can't remember if you're a guy or girl.so painting your nails might not be an issue.). It is a bit sore for a couple of days if you have it removed, and you have to keep it clean & wrapped and make sure you apply whatever topical medicine the doctor tells you to. (My grandkids & kids call them my "bald-headed toes.")

Other Answers:
Go back to the doctor; they might remove more.

You have to go back to the foot doctor . the nail should be cut a certain way, you might be able to save it.
