When I take Darvocet, it makes me shake like a junky and sweat. Why?
Question:
Could my physician think I am narcotic seeking or what? I have never heard of anyone having an adverse reaction to Darvocet.
Answers:
Wow, I hate to hear you having all of these problems. You must have a low tolerance to meds. Darvocet is a Controlled Sub.C-1V. It is a opioid and works on the Centrel Nervous System to produce a analgesia, eupoiria (high feeling) and sedation effect. It is excreted via urine.
Other side effects are: dizziness, light-headiness, headache, weakness, minor visual distrubances, rashes, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominial pain, tolerance & depence, psychological dependence.
Not not mix with: Dilatian or other barbiturates with out doctor's supervision! (Caution) Avoid alcohol intake. Report severe nausea, vomiting, constipation, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing to ER or doctor immediatey.
I can only say that your sweating is a "system" of you maybe being sick and/or running a fever. Sweating isn't one of the side effects of taking Darvoct. And yes, it could be one of those things were you are one of those people that you get one of these odd ball systems that effect just you..."the minority". Do not be concerned that the doctor would think of you being a junkie. Trust me, they are trained to "learn what one it and they one what to look for"! If you don't fit the profile, he or she will know. Don't worry about that. I do hope you get to feeling better. A ear ache should improve with in 2 to 2 and 1/2 days; if not, check back with your doctor for follow up. That is why they are there. Drink plenty of fluids and get rest-because the meds will cause constipation! Don't want that..lol.
If you have a blood sugar imbalance (either high or low) it is possible for some medicines to trigger a low.
Check out the symptoms link at www.hufa.org for some other symptoms of low blood sugar. There is info on the site on how to test yourself. There also is info on pain management. Are they also giving you an antibiotic to kill the ear infection?
If so, check out the yeast link.
Any or all of these combined may be partially the cause of your sweats and shakes.
DRUGS AFFECT EVERYONE DIFFERENTLY. NOW YOUR KNOW WHAT YOU CAN TAKE AND WHAT YOU CAN'T TAKE. JUST BE CARE FULL WHEN YOU TRY SOMETHING NEW.
