What is the best and fastest way to stop chiggers from itching?

Put some roll on deodorant on it and the itching will stop.my grandmother used to use this on me as a child and it worked.

First of all, tell him/her not to scratch! Secondly, invest in some calamine lotion and/or Benadryl spray. If you have neither, try an oatmeal bath. Put some oatmeal in an old sock and have them put it in the bath with them. Works wonders for chicken pox, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for chiggers (nasty things!).
I used Witch Hazel. It stinks big time, but it works. It's a liquid found in the first aid section at stores.
