how do you motivate yourself to exercise?
Question:
Answers:
The thing that worked for me was I made the assumption that I was motivated to work at a certain level. This level of motivation initially is way lower than your physical capability.
For example, you might have enough motivation to work out for 10 minutes even if your body could handle 45.
What I do is start at the lower motivational bound for a while, then gradually increase the amount. 10 minutes, 12 minutes, and so on. Eventually, it's not hard to motivate yourself to exercise, it's just a matter of how much.

I go to my tread mill with a good magzine and read while walking. I also crunch on a munchy snack (like an apple) while walking. I put up a picture of myself at my heaviest weight on my TV screen and then take it off once I've walked a mile and used our Ab machine and did 100 crunches, and that keeps me from not doing exercises since i don't want to look like that again.
Keep looking at myself in the mirror..Also telling myself that there is no sense feeling sad about being overweight if you don't do something about it.. just think about how much better you will feel about yourself..It is great motivator for me..i gotta say I like what big boy said..
Getting started is the hardest part. I would get up and make myself do it in the morning first thing. This will tap into fat stored and in about two weeks you will have lots more energy and it will also get easier as you go. THE ONE THING FOR MOTIVATION IN EXCERCISING IS TO THINK POSITIVE!!! Just think about the good you are doing your body.
You know all those ads and commericals on TV that tell you to exercise? Well when ever i see one i do the exercises they are doing. Everytime !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I lost 10 is 6 weeks and never had to buy their programs. Now if that isn't motivation enough. Just keep saying its free free free. LOL
I exercise because I want to live a healthy life, not necessarily a long life. Every study and doctor have consistently said two things: extra weight is bad for you and can land you into a heap of problems as you grow older and second, exercise is the best way to reduce weight and strengthen your body.
Now think: do you want to live out your life suffering, popping pills, unable to enjoy outdoor, rugged activities, and in pain or discomfort. Or look prematurely old and flabby?
Also, people in poor health generally have low self-esteem.
If you are not upto exercise, start with walking, and gradually increase your speed and duration. Take music with you so you don't get bored.
Nike has the best slogan for this, "Just Do It".
Rational thinking of why you shouldn't do something will prevail most of the time with most if they let it.
Once you have a mindset to just do it knowing that the body needs exercise and then start seeing the results, then you won't require motivation.
Well I lost 70 pounds in 6 months!! But 4 years later I gained it all back with allot of stress in my life. So its time to get motivated and loose it again and for good. So far Ive lost 12 pounds but over the summer i started getting lazy. I know the last time I did it i took addreal xr and it helped my energy level. I took five pounds at a time instead of saying im gonna be skinny tomorrow. I drake lots of water and the treadmil were my bestfriends.Fast food is my weakness and cheese so thats all I changed in my diet.I know if you want it bad enough just like anything you will do it and when you have a set back and mess up its the worst but thats the whole key never give up just start over. good luck and wish me luck!
listen to funky music watch music channel whilst doing exercise. Once you start you should get motivated if you don't start you never will if you know what I mean
I use to love exercising, and then I just got out of it for some reason. Now I can't seem to get that motivation back again, but I'm going to listen to all of these motivators and just do it!
