my daughter is having pain in her side left side and she's also vomiting can anyone help.?

Hi!
I am not sure about the vomiting (though it may be the body’s way of cleaning the system.) but the pain in the left side I can relate to. When I was 21 I began having pains on my left side. (Appendix is on the right so this is not the cause.) Which was worsened by greasy foods and stress. I too went to the doctor and was told nothing is wrong. I even went for a sonogram but nothing showed up.
Most of my episodes came in the middle of the night. They hurt so badly, I couldn't get up out of bed. I was curled up like that for hours and the next morning my left side would be sore.
About a year later I saw a doctor and he told me it was irritable bowl syndrome. He told me to take Citrucel. He explained that the walls of my intestine were rubbing together and causing me pain. The Citrucel is a fiber product that would fill the cavity preventing the walls from rubbing up against one another. (This may cause loose BMs as the body tries to eliminate the stressors.) Sometimes in the beginning, I would take 2 doses. If the first one doesn't work within a half hour I would take another one.
To my surprise this worked. Though the soreness still took a few days to go away the pains stopped. Since then I rarely get flare ups. Though when I feel one coming, I quickly take Citrucel and my recovery time is nothing. I have never had pains any more like I did with those first episodes.
Hope this help! Good Luck! Melissa
They thought ectopic pregnancy with me. Though they told me to wait and see if it went away. Then then checked for an ovarian cyst and again nothing. When they did the sonogram I knew these were not the cause as the ovaries are further down on the left side than my pain.
Where is the pain located? Above or below the bone? Above the bone so when you grab your side you are only holding flesh? Or below the bone down towards the groin and leg? So when you grab the left side to feel the pain your hand touches bone?

Get her to the DR asap! they can take it from there
Sounds like you better take her to the emergency room, to me.
take her 2 see a doctor
Go see a doctor! They'll most likely know better than anyone here.
I'm thinking one of two things could be wrong.Either food poisoning or she needs her appendix taken out. Then again I'm no doctor, I'm just speaking from experience.
It could be referred pain from the gall bladder. The gall bladder is on the right side & if it's referred pain, that means that the pain is showing in a different place. I thought gall bladder because you mentioned the greasy foods. That'll aggravate a gall bladder like nothing else. I would take her to the doctor and get him to do a workup to determine what the problem is.
i WOULD GO TO THE DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY! SHE COULD BE HAVING REPERCUSSIONS FROM HER SURGERY, OR HAVING TROUBLE WITH HER APPENDIX...ON WOMEN IT CAN COME FROM EITHER SIDE...
Yes there is help - but you need to take her to a real Doctor not get guesses from a message board with no test or temp. taken or any information about her past records. Hope you will do so soon!
She may have a blockage in the digestive tract. You should go to the doc and get her checked out, they will do some lab work and poss a sonogram and see what is going on with her.
Good luck!
why havent you taken her to a doctor yet if it was my son having those probs i'd be at the hospital and not have time to ask any one on here
You dont say how old your daughter is but she needs to see a doctor. Take her to the ER
Given the fact that she's already had a hernia removed you should seriously take her to the ER or a doctor ASAP. Those aren't signs and symptoms I'd be comfortable with as a mother.
Don't mess around, be safe!
i would make an appt with your family doctor to find out what it could possibly be. i would ask ur doctor if maybe she should see a gastroenterologist.
when at the hospital, did they do a FULL blood workup?
The appendix is on the lower right hand side of the abdomen. It's possible that she may have an ovarian cyst and needs to be seen ASAP. If she's sexually active it could also be an ectopic pregnancy and again, she needs to see the doctor..
did u get her checked up for appendicitis?these symptoms sound familiar to me.maybe she needs an appendisectomey.laproscopy makes the job a lot simpler.just a day in the hospital.i got it done 6 yrs ago.
If she's vomiting, then she needs to be in a hospital.
Now, my husband won't eat fat, and he can't eat dark-meat chicken or chicken fat because it will make him sick. Try cutting greasy stuff out of your daughter's diet and see if that helps.
Good luck!
Hurry,
get a second opinion. It could be her appendix !
