As nurses we used to say that the 'right' reading would be -
100 + your age over 1/2 of that plus 10.
So aged 30 your bp would be 100+30 over half (65 + 10) or 130/75.
The thing to remember is that lots of factors affect your blood pressure. The time of the month, worrying about something, when you last had a drink or something to eat. As suggested try to get a feel for what is normal for you.
If it suddenly changes dramatically then wait and do it again. If its still dramatic then go and see your doctor.
I've had 8 yes 8 heart attacks and my bp goes all over the place.
Sometimes it hits over 200. I'm still here and likely to remain so for a short while yet. So dont panic if it suddenly changes.
Good luck

my boyfriend takes it 3 times a day, at the same time each day, for a week. Then he can get a good general idea, and get an average. He'd take it at 6am, 4:30 pm, and 10pm. Or rather, when he got up, off of work, before bed. You can get a pretty good average, and see where you stand from day to day. Then you'll know what is "normal" for you
I wouldnt take it anymore than twice a day. Once in the morn and once in the eve. Make sure you relax for 20 mins before you take it or you will get false readings. x First thing in the morning, then half way through your awake time, Then before you sleep. Depending on your age BP should be around 120/80, but can vary 10 either way without much effect. Worst is when 80 becomes 100, then you can start worrying.
