Does EVERYONE know the 3 Simple Signs of A Stroke?

Question:
1. the person cannot smile correctly
2. The person cannot raise both arms above their head.
3. The person cannot a speak a simple sentence

I just read a question where the person described couldn;t do any of this and it really concerned me. Time untreated=Brain death.

Answers:
these three signs you mentioned can be an indicator, but it is really seldom that a person cannot raise both arms above their head: usually one side of the body is paralized (cannot move the arm/leg/part of mouth at all or just a very little), the other one is not. a stroke is a blockage of a brain vessle where the surrouinding brain tissue slowly begins to die (lack of oxygen) = causes the failure of parts of the body. it really depends on how severe the blockage is, for some people death might occur fast (depending where the blockage is at) other might have a couple hours to live. usually you would say, that from the first signs on, you have a max of 1 to 3 hours to be FINISHED with the medical treatment, such as a lysis (dissolving the blockage). again: depending on the severity, the patient might die due to massive brain damage, or the patient is alive with all kinds of different brain damage. when using the correct type of treatment after a stroke, a surprisingly high amount of brain activity can now be referred to an other part of the brain doing the other ones work (depending on the patient abilities + age).
so it is so important to call the paramedics right away and head to the nearest dtoke center.
here in germany we have the advantage that we have doctors riding on ambulances + the often life saving and frequently use of helicopters

hope that helped you, if you have more questions email me

good luck

you missed a slow painful death

I didn't know. I think most people do no tknow. I knew that a stroke led to the inability for a person to do simple things, and that half the body often shuts down, but I didn't know the three simple signs. It is scary to think of how few people know anything about life or death scenarios. those may be the "simple signs" , however those symptoms may not always be present. typically those signs are referring to a severe stroke, there are many other signs as well that could indicate stroke, If someone feels bad enough they should seek medical attention regardless if those symptoms are present or not. by the time those 3 symptoms aare present it may already be too late for some.

drooping face, slurred speech, and weakness on one or both sides of the body are the three classic signs of stroke..and it only takes 4 minutes before the brain goes into irreversible damage..not all people are aware of these danger..and not all people are aware of blood pressure checking..good emergency service and basic first aid knowledge are a big help to save the stroke victim's life..one may see and identify the three cassic signs of stroke, but we may not really know if its really stroke unless he was brought to a hospital and diagnosed by a physician.so its better to play safe..once the symptoms are seen, rush to the hospital..if it wasn't stroke, at least there was an emergent action to save a person's life..if it was stroke, good thing he was saved early before permanent brain damage..
