is the medicine "Airborn" good?

Question:
Is this stuff really good with helping the first symptoms of a cold go away?

Answers:
Good question but a subjective one as well. The zinc lozenges (coldeze) and the nasal zinc (zicam, which is what I would recommend) are at least clinically proven. The airborne "stuff" is exactly what the previous poster said it was: an expensive combination of vitamins and minerals. If you already take a multi-vitamin, you're just wasting your money on Airborne. Stick with the zinc remedies either Coldeze or Zicam.

Good luck and (try) to stay healthy!!

Other Answers:
It isn't really medicine.

Actually it is just a great combination of vitamins and minerals which enhance the immune system.

It works great by the way.

I perfer zinc lozenges myself. Coldeeze is a good brand. I recently used airborne on a flight to/from China, because I tend to get sick after long flights.

Well, I got mono after the trip, so guess it didn't work so great for me.

Over-hyped and over-priced in my opinion. The fact that they advertise it as 'developed by a teacher' not a medical professional should set off some alarm bells.

I've used Airborne with success. maybe it's psychological, but it worked for me. I ALWAYS get a cold after flying, but the last 2 times I have taken Airborne and not gotten sick.

The last time, I got the beginning of a cold, but got over it in about a day.

It really helps but it has high calcium content so be careful if you have a history of kidney stones or whatever is not good with high calcium.
