Will alcohol increase my chances of blood clotting in an airplane?

Question:
I've had swelling in my left lower leg (mostly the calf and outter side of the leg)... The first swelling happened last Tuesday, the swelling went down that night and I continued with my daily exercising. I talked to a Dr. friend and they thought it could be a msucle strain from working out too hard ( BUT THERE WAS NO PAIN WITH THE SWELLING) OR that it could be a chance of a blood clot (I am 21/f, but am on birth control and spend a lot of time standing) After the swelling diminished last week, I just didn't worry about it anymore. Then, the swelling came back yesterday. I know that chances of clotting increase with altitude in the airplane, and was told by my Dr. to take aspirin. I'm flying tonight and am going to take Children's Bayer for blood thinner. If I drink a glass or two of wine before the flight, will that help my blood flow? or will it be worse??

Answers:
alcohol thins your blood but if your leg is warm to the touch then i would be asking a dr about it i do know that blood clots are very painful and the area is usually warm and red try not to sit for long periods on the plane get up stretch your legs or move around good luck to you but i think you should get that checked blood clots are no joke and the can travel and be very harmful to you if you do not catch them in time

Other Answers:
You should not mix Bayer and alcohol, so I would stay away from drinking on the plane.
Alcohol should actually reduce the chances, concidering that it thins your blood.
