Cataract operation. Can anyone tell me anything about it.?

Question:
I am about to have an operation for a cataract and wonder if anyone has had any bad experiences.

Answers:
Cataract's are caused by a clouding of the lens in your eye. A qualified MD can perform surgery the remove the clouded, or foggy lens and replace it with a new one. It often times can give you better vision. It is painless and amazing. My grandmother had the surgery and she sees better now then she ever did!!

The MD will do one eye at a time, usually a week apart. You are awake during the surgery (they usually give you calming drugs) but they use instruments to slice the cornea ( the outer clear part of your eye) and create a flap to get to the clouded lens. This is a natural aging process of the eye. However, MD's are seeing patients with cataracts at younger and younger ages.

Where sunglasses when you are outside during the day. Harmful UV rays are one of the causes of cataracts.

Research has shown that antioxidants can help prevent cataracts, macular degeneration and many, many other things.
i think they just do it with lasers and it's eally quick, afterwards it's just a few weeks of drops. You don't have to lie down for a week or not pick anything up etc like you used to
