my eyes keep blacking out, why is this?
Question:
Answers:
I occasionally get that. In short, your blood pressure drops suddenly when you stand up abit too quickly, everything spins briefly and everything goes black. It's like a momentary loss of consciousness because of the sudden drop in pressure. Some weather conditions make these 'attacks' (if you're prone to them) more frequent. I suggest you go to docs and get yourself checked out, in particular your blood pressure, thyroid etc.

you need to see an eye doctor right away. It could be a serious problem that will lead to blindness.
If the eye doctor doesn't find anything wrong with your eyes, make an appointment with a doctor to get your blood tested. You could be anemic and need iron.
see the opticien at once
Had the same problem a little while ago.
The optician said my eyes were under a lot of strain and were tired. He suggested eye strengthening excercises and prescribed a stronger pair of lenses. This seems to have done the trick.
But go see your optician just in case it's something more serious
Buy a smaller hat.
Rush to an eye specialist NOW.
used to do that, then i went to see a doctor who referred me to an optician and now i wear glasses. the optician said my problem was that the focusing in each of my eye lenses was different from the other..one of my eyes is longsighted
I'm pretty sure this is due to a lack of blood to the brain. When you stand up gravity is pulling the blood to your lowest body part and thus depriving your brain of the sufficient amount of oxygen it needs. This may not be exactly correct, but close.
TIP: next time when you go to stand up, do it very slowly and it should stop you from blacking out.
Possibly variations in blood pressure or flow...my mother used to black out if she raised her arms above her head quickly, like when hanging out clothes on the line etc. Go to a doctor and get checked out.
It only means that you are weak and need strength. try taking balanced diet and avoid weight control if any. Meanwhile take high protein diet and vitamins. Gradually reduce the vitamins when your body is cabable of. Its nothing to do with eyes. Its just that you are exhausted or have done hard manual work which your body is not accustomed to.
