Should I have my galbladder removed?

I have gallstones that have not given me any pain or discomfort yet, but the doctor is insistent that it be removed! I don't feel like having an operation :-( What should I do??

Do what you want to do. I don't know anyone who had the surgery who did not continue to have problems. Maybe it will help to find a way to get rid of or minimize the gallstones.

I have one as well. The doctor told me that unless it bothers me not to worry about it. People have lived till the old age for centuries with problems like that. If not the modern equipment you would not even know about it. Surgeons love to make money of little things like that. The doctor told me that my daughter has multiple gall stones last year but said not to worry about her having surgery until she has a gall bladder attack. She has to be very careful of the foods she eats or else she is very uncomfortable. This is something that you and your doctor should decide together or even get a second opinion on when to have it removed.
