Does anyone else sleep on a futon and find it uncomfortable?

Question: my futon has metal bars that you can feel through the matress, which was supposed to be 8 in., but has flattened already.

I know what you mean about the metal bars. One of my friends has a futon for guests and I hate sleeping on it. You might as well sleep on the damn floor!

I had the same problem some years ago. What I did helped a lot: I put some cardboard to cover the bars, then placed some blakets on top of the cardboard...and the matress on top! It worked wonders!!
