Just starting effexor. what should i expect?

Question:

I went to the doctor today for panic attacks. I have GAD. i have tried zoloft, paxil, prozac, and doxepin in the past with no effects. only thing that has worked do far is valium and ativan. i dont want to get addicted though. medication scares me. LOL guess it is part of the GAD. anywho just wondering if anyone is/has taken effexor and what side effects and benefits they have had. i no we are all different just curious though.

Depends what amount the Dr. prescribed. At lower levels it only effects one neurotransmitter and at higher levels effects two. My doc saw I needed more and adjusted accordingly. I hated paxil. prozac, and zoloft but effexor worked wonders. Only side effect was loss of appetite...but that was good for me.

Ask the doctor or pharmacist, moron.
