Recovering from carpal tunnels?

Question:
My doctor said I had carpel tunnels syndrome when I went to see him about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Since then I've been resting my wrist more, and the symptoms (such as numbness in the hands and fingers) have gotten better. Now my wrist area just feels kind of achy, but I don't get the numbness anymore.

Is that how it's supposed to feel when you're recovering from carpal tunnels?

How much longer will it take to be completely better again?

Is there anything to do to speed up the healing process? Things to avoid?

Answers:
It will take a while to be completely better. The more you rest your wrist the better but in a busy life style its very hard to do! I have had surgery on both hands and went back to work for 3 days and I have the same problems. The doctor said there is no reason for my hands to be hurting and that I didn't re-damage them so I'm going back to work. A wrist splint helps alot while sleeping at night, it prevents your wrists from moving or bending the wrong way while you are sleeping so maybe that will help you. You can buy them at any drug store or Wal Mart.

Good luck and hope things get better for you!
