I have some of the fuzzy part of a q-tip stuck in my ear. What do I do to get it out?
Question:
Answers:
it depends on how far back the q-tip is stuck. if you cannot visibly see it w/out the help of an otoscope (the instrument doctors use to look inside the ear), then i would not attempt to pull it out on your own.
trying to flush it out w/any type of solution without the use of a special syringe that has a curved tip (doctor will have this) could result in you pushing the cotton further into the ear canal and could cause the solution used to get trapped inside the ear drum causing pain and even worse infection. the ear canal itself is only about 2 inches long and the ear drum in NOT protected by anything but the cartliage surrounding it (which is the outer part of your ear)-basically it's a very delicate part of your body.
it would be best to play it safe and have it removed by your doctor-it will take him less than five minutes to remove it SAFELY protecting your ear and your hearing capability

You would have to be extremely careful but maybe try using tweezers.
I'd ask someone to use tweezers and a steady hand, as long as it's not beyond a curve. Otherwise, I'd ask a doctor. he may just have some tweezers that bend for things just like that. I don't think that you should try and take it out without the professional help of a doctor because it could be pushed in farther.
Try putting a few drops of mineral oil into the ear canal, lay on your side with the affected ear facing the ceiling for five minutes, then turn over so that the affected ear faces down. The cotton may slide out with the oil. You can also try flushing it out in the shower. I'd advise you to try flushing first. However, it all else fails, see a doctor and have it removed before too much bacteria builds up and causes infection.
Plug one nostril tightly, close your mouth, press the end of an air hose into your open nostril until it's airtight, and BLOW! DON'T ACTUALLY DO THIS! But that's what a doctor might do (I think it's called eustacian tube dilation)
tweezers I would, just to be on the safe side, go to the doctor so that you don't accidentally push it in further or cause damage to your ear.
call your doctor so you don't damage your ear.
dont be a dick..go to the doctor
GO TO THE DOCTOR TO AVOID INFECTION OR TAKE SOME TWEEZERS TO REMOVE Try putting a tweezers in your ear (VERY carefully!!) and pull it out. If you cant, see a doctor. Don't use q-tips again!! Good Luck :)
Well if it's right where you can see it I would ASK SOMEONE ELSE to try to get it with tweezers. If it is at all risky-looking DON'T RISK IT!
