Allergies, perhaps?

Dry eyes is a condition in which the eyes don't make enough tears to adequately lubricate them. This could cause the burning sensation. Try a lubricating drop such as Visine.
The full, kinda itchy, sometimes burning sensation I had was due to a systemic yeast infection (candida albicans). It has gone away because I have been on a yeast cleanse diet for 6 months+.

Visine is one of the worst things to use on your eyes.
My eyes burn quite a bit. They can also produce too many tears (looks like I'm crying sometimes).
My opthamologist said that I had allergies and gave me prescription eye drops. He also said that TheraTears is the only eye drop that anyone should use because it is all natural and non-irritating.
