What will happen if you don't get a spider bite treated?

Question:
I was bitten by a spider and because I had no insurance I didn't get it treated. It swelled up and later broke open. This thing leaked for about two weeks. It left a really big hole in my stomach so I continuosly filled it with neosporin and flushed with an antiseptic rinse until somewhat healed but it still itches.

Examples of problems that are more serious include:

A severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis). Severe allergic reactions are not common but can be life-threatening and require emergency care. Signs or symptoms may include:
Shock, which may occur if the circulatory system cannot get enough blood to the vital organs.
Coughing, wheezing, difficulty breathing, or feeling of fullness in the mouth or throat.
Swelling of the lips, tongue, ears, eyelids, palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and mucous membranes (angioedema).
Lightheadedness and confusion.
Nausea, diarrhea, and stomach cramps.
Hives and reddening of the skin. These symptoms often occur with other symptoms of a severe reaction.
A toxic reaction to a single sting or bite. Spiders or insects that may cause this include:
Black widow spider.
Brown recluse spider.
Hobo spider.
Scorpion.
Puss caterpillar (woolly slug).
A toxic reaction to multiple stings or bites from a bee, wasp, or fire ant.
A bee leaves it stinger behind and then dies after stinging. Africanized honeybees, the so-called killer bees, are more aggressive than common honeybees and often attack together in great numbers.
Wasps, including hornets and yellow jackets, can sting over and over. Yellow jackets cause the greatest number of allergic reactions.
A fire ant attaches to a person by biting with its jaws, then, pivoting its head it stings from its abdomen in a circular pattern at multiple sites.
A large skin reaction at the site of the bite or sting.
A skin infection at the site of the bite or sting.
Serum sickness, a reaction to the medications (antiserum) used to treat a bite or sting. Serum sickness may cause hives and flu-like symptoms 7 to 14 days after the use of antiserum.
A virus infection. Infected mosquitoes can spread the West Nile virus to people, causing an inflammation of the brain (encephalitis). For more information, see the topic West Nile Virus.
A parasite infection. Infected mosquitoes can spread malaria. For more information, see the topic Malaria.
Get it seen by a doctor.spider bites can kill..;
Depends on what kind of spider since it has not healed after 2 weeks you need to go see a Dr. You can get some serious infections
usually if it itches that is a sign that it's healing. if the spider is not poisonous you did the right thing and you will be ok. just put a bandade on it with some neosporin and you will be ok.
Go see a doctor. A friend of mine ended up in the emergency room because she didn't have insurance and she was bitten by a spider. Apparently her leg swelled up and there was talk that it might have to be amputated. (I'm not sure if she was exaggerating.)

I don't mean to scare you, but there must be low income/nonprofit clinics that can at least look at you in the area.

Good luck!
it seems that it is fine this time, but never let insurance be an issue, there are many hospital ER's that dont require insurance for treatment, it isnt worth dying or becoming life threatening ill in order to keep a bill from poppin up. the spider bite is healed you said, if it is only itching, than id say that there is nothing to worry about after 2 weeks, if there had been a serious health problem connected with this bite it would have already presented itself, in the future, you should attempt to see the spider and take mental notes on what it looks like so you could inform a doctor about what type of spider it was that bit you. also if possible catchin it (safely n with out endangering yourself) would be good too. using anteseptic rinse and neosporin was also a good idea to keep an infection from forming. www.Webmd.com is also a good source of information. one final note, it is never worth it to skip treatment due to money issues, i too have no insurance but with something like that its better to owe the hospital and live to do so :)
sounds like a black widow or brown recluse.

What you have is a digestive juice that is digesting your body. It won't strop doign that unless you neutralize it or get it out of there. The rest is just the results of the digestive juices having putrified your body and the mocroorganisms growing on all that.

YOu should go to a good doctor ( and also a good natural practitioner) If you can find a chineese one all the better. BUt you do not want to play around with that.

where when and how did yu get bit Someone else may be liable to pay for the doctor bills. Look up the poison control center in atlanta I think it is.

Remember a spider injects its digetive juiceinto its pray the juice paralizes it by disolving the muscles and nerves. then the spider sucks the juice that has been made out of the insects or animals it ussually eats.

Was there a black spot that has grown and grown?
please go to the er or doctor next time!
my hubby got bit by a spider (not sure what type) and said he felt fine.
two days later i was breaking the speed limit to get him to the nearest ER before he passed out.
the almost immediately started an iv drip and antibiotics. he was feverish and in alot and i do mean ALOT of pain. he ended up spending three days in hospital to get things under control
