taking time off is the only way to get a full recovery. if you start too soon the tendon will never get a chance to get to recover to full strength. losing weight might help in some cases because the extra weight might be putting extra stress on the tendon causing it to flare up. that however is only with sever overweight. normally tendinitis is cause by too much running and just general over use. doing pain free stretching and ice it. ice is very important because ice is a constrictor and decreases sensation. vasoconstriction will lessen the blood flow to the inflammation.
