Do people with bad eyesight end up being blind when they're older?

99 % of ppl.with bad eye sight do not end up blind. For most, the eye sight gets worse which means they will need a stronger prescription. The other 1% will be deemed legally blind but not blind as in no sight at all.

In most cases they will not be blind when they're older. Of course it will depend on what is causing the poor eyesight in the first place. There are some diseases of the eye that can result in blindness. I personally have had poor eyesight all of my life -- but beyond requiring glasses, I will not go blind.
Depend on if your eyesight is just because you have bad eyesight that requires glasses for correction, or if you have a condition like macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retenopothy, retenitouspigmentosia, etc. these condtions can lead to blindness in any age. If you just need corrective lens more than likely you won't go blind.
Blindness is caused by all sorts of disorders, diseases, and accidents.
