how long should it take to fully recover from a bad electric shock?

Question:

Answers:
I heard that you have 24 to 48 hours of possibly suffering a heart attack, but also it depends on the severity . If you see no signs of damage the only other problem would be of the heart because of the electric impulse that the heart receives, but I have not experienced it myself although I have been shocked by 220 volts before and nothing happened to me. I would only advise to see a Doc right away if you suffer chest pains or numbness, especially on one side of the body only, or in your left arm, or even if you experience confusion etc. Good Luck to you.

It depends how bad the damage to your system is. It could scramble your nervous system, ruin muscles and other soft tissues, burn you, etc.

Recovery from electric shock depends on the nature and severity of the injuries. The percentage of the body surface area burned is the most important factor affecting prognosis.

If someone who has received an electric shock does not suffer immediate cardiac arrest and does not have severe burns, he or she is likely to survive.

Infection is the most common cause of death in people hospitalized following electrical injury.

Electrical damage to the brain may result in a permanent seizure disorder, depression, anxiety, or other personality changes.
