how do you get rid of bed bugs from mattress and box springs without ruining them?

Question:

Answers:
Unless you have a lot of time and patience, the answer is simple: Bag them up and throw them away. However, if you are diligent it CAN be done. First and foremost, I would hire an exterminator. Bed bugs are incredibly adept at finding places to hide. They often hide in cracks of alarm clocks and along the baseboards of an infested room. If your bed had bed bugs, then your entire living area may be infested.

There are also some do-it-yourself kits that may be of use if you are diligent.

I will attach some useful links. Be prepared for a drawn out battle!

Take a bar of soap and get it wet but not dripping. If you run the soap bar lightly along the area where the bed bugs are, they'll stick to it with very little mess to clean up. A wipe down with a wet cloth will not only clean up the soap but also the droppings from the bedbugs.
