Is share prescription pain killers considered illegal? I have a prescription to a strong pain medicine and my?

Question: friend who does not have any medical insurance, is always hitting me up for some,can I get into trouble for giving him some? We are both over 18 years old, so its not like I am supplying a minor with drugs...But my fear is that he might have a bad reaction to them and end up worse off then he is now...I have yet to share any pills with him; also if I do, it would be hard to explain to my Doctor why I ran out so fast.

it is illegal, that is why they are prescription only.....is your friend really in pain or does he have a problem? my mom gives me her prescription migraine medicine when i need it, but i have severe migraines and cannot afford the pills, they are like 10 bucks EACH!i would think hard before handing out my pain medication to anyone because you are correct, if he has a reaction, you would be in trouble and your dr WILL eventually notice why you are running out of them so fast and may not prescribe to you anymore, then you are crap outta luck

Besides it being illegal, it is not smart. You are giving dsomething to somebody who has not been diagnosed, so you don't know what he neds or what he can handle.

Sharing prescription medicines is not only illegal, it is very unwise. Medicines are prescribed by doctors for people based on many things, some of them being symptoms, body weight and mass, allergies, etc. When you share pills, you place yourself in danger of prison time since police agencies and the law view that as the same as selling "recreational" drugs. You also place your friend in danger of overdosing or having an allergic reaction. You were wise to not share yet. Don't. It might be your worst mistake.
