does anyone remember ever having to be re-vaccinated for smallpox?
Question:
Answers:
I only had it one time!http://www.bt.cdc.gov/agent/smallpox/vaccination/faq.asp
Other Answers:
Yes, had another one when I was drafted in '72.
Only when I went to travel abroad, 17 years ago, but I don't have a scar from that. I have a weird mark on my left arm near the shoulder from a polio vaccine from when I was an infant.
Yep, had it done in 1969 before I went to teach in Mexico.
After 9/11 as part of "first responder" preparedness, huge numbers of people were also re-vaccinated. Even though smallpox now is cosidered eradicated in the world, and routine vaccination is no longer practiced, there are some fearmongers who use the HINT of this disease for political ends. Thus they frighten the population. And, hence, the re-vaccination campaign.
