You'll need to set off some flea bombs in your house. Take your family out for an afternoon on the weekend while you set off some flea bombs in the house. come home in however many hours it recommends, open the windows to air everything out, and vaccuum all of the carpets to get all of the dead fleas up. I would recommend throwing some vaccuum carpet powder down on the carpet for the smell of the flea bomb too.
We had to do this a couple of years ago in our apartment and we were completely successful in getting rid of them after we did that and put flea drops on both of our cats.

When my husband and I were first married we moved into a small house. We had no pets but, the old renters had a dog and the house had fleas. The life cycle of a flea causes he first ones to me bombed and in two weeks they hatch from eggs and start again. so cleaning just picked up the spray. Your baby could not be on the floor. You will have to be out of the house for three weeks.
there is something called borick acid (not sure how to spell it) thats not suppose to harm people or animals and my father uses it to get rid of fleas. put it in a sock and walk around tapping the sock lightly leting a little cloud out at a time, but i wouldn't use much you never know....
find someone with a banana tree and get a piece of the stalk and cut it into pieces.Hide it where you see the fleas.
