I have a small wood sliver in my finger and its deep and hard to get out, is it alright to leave it in?
Question:
Answers:
Keep it clean and don't cause more damage by digging at it.
Your body will build a wall around it and eventually force it out as your skin grows.
If it becomes infected (red, warm, swollen, tender) see your healthcare professional who can easily remove it and treat the infection.
Other Answers:
No, it will get infected and then you'll be in real trouble.
remove now,,,
it could turn very sore...
plus it'll hurt till u remove it!
Put iodine on your finger. It will dye the sliver a much darker color so you will be able to see it.
Your body may just push it out in a week or two.
It doesn't need to come out immediately but it does need to come out. Put some drawing salve on it and cover it - it'll help draw the splinter to the surface of your finger so it'll be easier for you to get it out.
yes use some tweezers to get it out
You should take it out as soon as possible. Try sucking on your finger or rubbing your finger on fine hair.
It should be. Keep it clean, and eventually it'll work its way out. But if it gets red or hurts a lot, call a doctor, because it could be infected.
it shouldnt hurt you at all if ya leave it there it will eventualy work its way up and come out on its own soak your finger in warm water for a bit then try to use twezers. DO NOT use a needle you can actualy cause it to get infected and or push it in farther.
dont sweat it. youll be fine.
PUT A PIECE OF BACON FAT ON IT.THEN WRAP THE FAT IN GAUZE AND LEAVE ON OVER NIGHT. IN THE MORNING YOU CAN PULL IT RIGHT OUT.I KNOW IT SOUNDS STRANGE BUT IT WORKS.GOOD-LUCK

The glass slips from your hands and breaks when it hits the floor. You take off to find your mom and you step on a sliver of glass. Ouch! And now you're bleeding, too.
Cuts, scratches, and abrasions are a part of growing up. Let's find out more about them:
Cuts: These are injuries to the skin caused by something sharp, like a knife.
Scratches: These are slight injuries that happen when a sharp object, like a fingernail or thorn, scrapes along your skin the way a pencil scrapes across paper.
Abrasions (say: uh-bray-zhunz): This is a scrape that happens when the skin is rubbed away. For example, you might get a "rug burn" while wrestling with your brother or a "board burn" if you wipe out on your skateboard when you weren't wearing kneepads.
Use drawing salve on it. It will take it out without pain. Dsalve is available at any drug store.
try to ice site down, this will help with pain, you'll need to work it out, and bleed it some. sterilize needle and use that to get a grip on it. go slow and careful
Normally you should be fine. Put a little rubbing alcohol on it so that it doesn't get infected if you can't get to it. It will work it's way out on it's own. But it will irritate you as long as it's there, so you might try getting a razor blade and slicing open the spot it went in at just a little to see if you can grab it with some tweezers.
You will need to get this removed; the earlier the better before your finger becomes infected.
Im not a nurse but usually the splinter will fester (get infected) and then you can use a needle to make a small puncture where it is at and remove it by squeezing the skin around it.
