Can a lower back injury cause knee to swell?

Question:
i was born with scoliosls,at the age of 14 i had surgery, from then doctors said i can work,im 36 now i was on my job for 2 years, then i injury my lower back and the pain is more on my left side,i been off my job for 6mos.now,and my left knee is swellin for about 1 week now

Answers:
Yes it can because the blood flow can be disturbed by the injury and bybthe changes in your walking by favoring the injured side and walking different.
SCOLIOSIS IS AN ABNORMAL CURVATURE OF THE SPINE. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO BE WORKING ALTHOUGH NOT IMPOSSIBLE.
INJURING YOUR LOWER BACK AT WORK OR AT WHATEVER ACTIVITY, CAN GET QUITE SEVERE. IF THE PAIN IS MORE ON YOUR LEFT SIDE, MAY I SUGGEST THAT YOU MAY HAVE A SCIATICA PROBLEM. THE SCIATICA NERVE WHEN IRRITATED CAN CAUSE EXTREME PAIN ON EITHER LEFT SIDE, RIGHT SIDE OR BOTH AND IT CAN MAKE YOUR KNEES PAINFUL AND SOMEWHAT SWOLLEN. MAY I ASK IF YOU ARE OVERWEIGHT? IF YOU ARE OVERWEIGHT, EVEN JUST A LITTLE, IT CAN CAUSE OTHER PARTS OF YOUR BODY TO HURT ALSO.
TAKE GOOD CARE.
